The San Francisco Chronicle reported he died in Redwood City. He was 67.

Tom Martinez, who helped to mentor Tom Brady, died Tuesday on his 66th birthday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Martinez was a long time coach at the College of San Mateo in the Bay Area and upon retiring from coaching became a quarterback tutor.
